Eastern Suffolk BOCES STEM High School Students at CPC for Mfg Day

October 2, 2015

25 students from Eastern Suffolk BOCES’s STEM High School program attended Manufacturing Day at the Composite Prototyping Center on October 2nd. They were introduced to the world of Advanced Manufacturing beginning with a guided tour of our state-of-the-art facility and witnessed first-hand from Lenny Poveromo, Executive Director of CPC, what careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math are all about.

Students who visited CPC also saw a demonstration from our millennial ambassador Mark Schmiemann with Nordan Composites Technology, how composite hoods used in Indy cars are made. He showed the students that STEM careers can be exciting, challenging and rewarding.
